Uncontrolled Airspace
For the new student pilot it is difficult initially to gain an appreciation for how important learning to fly in un-controlled airspace is for training purposes. Most larger airports are found in what is known as controlled airspace (Eg Manchester and Liverpool) and at these larger airports the reality is that significant delays both on the ground and in the air are often encountered, all of which you are paying for! On occasions it becomes practically very difficult to effectively complete an exercise while in controlled airspace. Due to Barton being in un-controlled airspace we can say with confidence that such delays will rarely be encountered.
